272nd Tactical Event

 

Italian Front

September 19-21, 2008

This a private tactical event. We will be opposed by the US 82nd Airborne, 352nd Glider Troop, 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One" and possibly more!

Scenario

Theme for the event is mid-war early on the Italian Front. 
 


Event Guidelines

Food
  • Bring German and Italian items.
  • As always, ALL food items must be wrapped in period appropriate packaging.
 
Appearance
  • Period style hair cuts only (Short on sides and sort of long-ish on top)
  • Clean shaven
 
Uniform and Field Gear
All normal uniform and field gear, in particular:
  • M40/42 Helmet preferred with no decals
  • Italian theme helmet camoflauge paint is encouraged
  • Camo Splinter helmet covers ok, and some German or Italian items are ok if not over done
  • M40 or M43 Feldmutze. Tan colored Arika Feldmutze are OK.
  • M40 or later Tunic and Trousers preferred
  • Tan colored Afrika Trousers are OK, but not the Tunic.
  • Low boots and Gemaschen preferred
  • Always your Soldbuch and Erkennungsmarken

Gewehr
  • K98
  • Two MP40/MP41 per Gruppe allowed
  • One MG34/42 per Gruppe allowed
  • One G41/43 per Gruppe allowed
  • One Gewehrgranatgerat per Gruppe allowed
  • Only the Platoon Commander, Medic, and Maschinengewerschuetze and Maschinengewerschuetehelfer may carry a pistol
  • Optional: Panzerfaust und Panzerschrek, 8cm Mortar and HMG if enough men available to crew one
  
Other Items of Note
This is an all outdoor event. Sleeping accomidations will be provided by your Wolfgrahügel. Bring all necessary gear in particular your Zehlt, Blankets, Great Coat, and warm clothes for cold nights. The weather is usually very hot during the day and very cold at night.
