Under Attack

 

The Soviets push from the East and the Capitalist push from the west. Expect opposition from  US 82nd Airborne, 352nd Glider Troop, 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One", the Red Army and likely more. This a private tactical event.

Our unit will be composed as usual along with replacement units from the Luftwaffe Felddivision and the Volksgrenadier.

Event Guidelines

Food
  • Food will be provided for $10 (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner and lunch provided by the SS, Sunday Breakfast).
  • You should also bring a small amount of additional food, either German and Ersatz (replacement) period wrapped food.
  • Your food must fit entirely within your Kochgeschir (messkit). Two half-iron rations should be more than sufficient. A single half-iron ration contains the following:
    • Small can of meat
    • Small package of bread or crackers
    • A little something extra, like a chocolate bar, instant coffee, candy or Butterkeks

Appearance
  • Period style hair cuts only (Short on sides and sort of long-ish on top)
  • Clean shaven
  HMG
Uniform and Field Gear
All normal uniform and field gear, in particular:
  • Anything late war, including a mixture of service field gear (Luftwaffe, Heer, Kriegsmarine)
  • M40/42 Helmet preferred with no decals
  • M40 or M43 Feldmutze.
  • M40 or later Tunic and Trousers preferred
  • Low boots and Gemaschen preferred
  • Always your Soldbuch and Erkennungsmarken

Gewehr
  • K98
  • Two MP40/MP41 per Gruppe allowed (captured SMG OK)
  • One MG34/42 per Gruppe allowed
  • Several G41/43 per Gruppe are allowed
  • One Gewehrgranatgerat per Gruppe allowed
  • Only the Platoon Commander, Medic, and Maschinengewerschuetze and Maschinengewerschuetehelfer may carry a pistol
  • Optional: Panzerfaust und Panzerschrek, 8cm Mortar and HMG if enough men available to crew one.
  
Other Items of Note
This is a barracks event, be sure to bring:
  • Bettbezug: blue and white checkered Wehrmacht blanket cover and pillow case.
  • Two flat white single bed sheets.
  • Wool Blankets
  • Schemel: backless chair (see der Erste Zug for instructions on making your own or one can be purchased online)
  • Schrank: Locker if you have one
  • Any other accessories you may have such as period towels and shaving equipment.
  • Additional items you may have that can be used to help create the barracks theme
   

Site Fee & Directions
  • Site fee is $31.50
  • Good German food will also be provided, so bring an additional $10
  • Please notify the unit commander if you require ammunition.
