272nd is always looking for new members!

The primary requirements for membership in the 272nd are a genuine interest in history, a commitment and willingness to create an accurate impression, and Kameradschaft (comradeship).

Our members primarily come from the US Pacific Northwest including Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and more. We are accepting members throughout the area, or anywhere that isn't too far for you. Most events take place in Oregon.

Authenticity is our major focus and each event may have its own individual requirements depending upon the historical period and location. We attend events in all terrain and weather conditions: deserts, forests, mountains, marshes, rain or snow. Physical fitness and the willingness to sleep outdoors are requirements for safety and help make a good impression. We participate in Living History Programs including public interpretations, historic films, and tactical events.

The new 'trial recruit' will be entirely outfitted in loaner gear for his first event. After that you should purchase your basic kit as quickly as your financial resources allow, although as a rule you should have at least one new piece at each event .

All members of the 272nd Infanterie experience a rewarding and exciting atmosphere of camaraderie. If you have a passion for history, enjoy the outdoors, and would love to engage in a mentally and physically challenging hobby, we would like to hear from you.
